In this short video Mike introduces the Beamex PGPH pneumatic high pressure pump. When used with the MC6 advanced field calibrator and an external pressure module, you can efficiently generate and measure pressure.
The PGPH is a hand operated pneumatic (air as pressure media) high-pressure table pressure generator. The pump is efficient in generating both vacuum and high pressure up to 140 bar (2000 psi) quickly and effortlessly. It takes less than one minute to generate the maximum pressure. The PGPH is equipped with an adjustable volume control providing excellent fine-tuning of generated pressure and with two hand-tight connectors allowing easy and fast connections without the need of any tools.
Beamex MC6 is an advanced, high-accuracy field calibrator and communicator. It offers calibration capabilities for pressure, temperature and various electrical signals. The MC6 also contains a full fieldbus communicator for HART, FOUNDATION Fieldbus and Profibus PA instruments.
Michael Frackowiak is a calibration expert with years of experience with Beamex products, initially as a hands-on calibration technician, today as a Calibration Consultant at Beamex UK. On Mike’s Calibration Corner Mike shows, in a hands on manner, the best practices for advanced process instrument calibration.
How to make a fully automatic calibration of a pressure transmitter using the Beamex ePG Electric Pressure Pump and the Beamex MC6 Multifunction Calibrator and Communicator.
Comparing the accuracy specifications of pressure calibrators can be a challenging task because different manufacturers specify accuracy in different ways.

The earth’s atmosphere above us contains air, and although it is relatively light, having that much of it, it starts to have some weight as gravity pulls the air molecules.
Most pressure transmitters are used in varying environmental conditions in the processes. Also, the temperature of the pressure media may vary widely during usage.
Pressure switches are very common instruments in the process industry and like many instruments, pressure switches need to be calibrated to ensure their accuracy and reliability.

There are a lot of different pressure units in use around the world and sometimes this can be very confusing and may cause dangerous misunderstandings.

Using a mA meter with an internal impedance that is too high to measure current over the transmitter’s test connection will result in erroneous measurement results.
