Specification

Beamex / Dictionary / Metrology / Specification

In metrology, a specification is a documented statement of the expected performance capabilities of a large group of substantially identical measuring instruments, given in terms of the relevant parameters and including the accuracy or uncertainty. Customers use specifications to determine the suitability of a product for their own applications. A product that performs outside the specification limits when tested (calibrated) is rejected for later adjustment, repair, or scrapping.
