Making calibration history Dear Calibration Professional, this is the second issue of CALIBRATION WORLD and I am happy to present to you some wonderful news. First of all, I would like to thank all of you, our readers, for the positive feedback regarding this magazine. Secondly, many things have been happening in our product development sector lately; this means that this issue of CALIBRATION WORLD introduces several new and interesting products. Fieldbus is one of the hottest topics in process automation today. This is not surprising, considering all the advantages fieldbus systems can offer: increased efficiency and cost savings by lowering commissioning costs and by delivering better and more detailed information to support maintenance operations, just to name a few. No wonder fieldbus installations are growing rapidly worldwide. The thing that makes me particularly proud is that Beamex introduces the world’s first calibrator for calibrating Foundation Fieldbus H1 and Profibus PA transmitters. This is definitely one of the biggest things that have happened within the field of calibration for many years. You can read more about the topic in this issue. In addition to fieldbus calibration, we will be introducing a completely new family of CMX calibration software in the beginning of 2007. The CMX calibration software family now comprises three different products: CMX Light, CMX Professional and CMX Enterprise. Depending on requirements, customers can now choose the CMX product that best meets their needs. There is also one completely new function in the CMX – weighing instrument calibration. You will find all this and much more in this issue of CALIBRATION WORLD. Enjoy your reading!
